Nervous system dysregulation
Wired, tired, and never quite able to settle.
You're exhausted but can't switch off. Small things feel like big things. Your body stays braced — shallow breath, tight jaw, a low hum of alert that doesn't ease even when nothing's wrong.
This is a nervous system stuck in the 'on' position, and it can be helped.

What's actually happening
A nervous system stuck on high alert.
When stress is sustained, the autonomic nervous system can get stuck in sympathetic over-activation — fight-or-flight — long after the threat has passed. The body keeps producing the physical signs of stress: tension, shallow breathing, poor sleep, a racing mind.
The vagus nerve, which runs from the brainstem through the neck and into the body, is central to switching this off. Gentle, specific work at the cranium, neck and breath helps re-engage it — teaching the system it’s safe to stand down.
“I came in exhausted and wired. I left able to take a full breath — and for once, my body believed it.”
